National land-conservation agency ranks Albuquerque park system among 10 best.
The Trust for Public Land -- a national non-profit that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens, historic sites, rural lands, and other natural places -- has released its 2011 City Park Facts, giving Albuquerque's park system high marks.
Albuquerque has nearly 300 city parks, and this national report highlights the City's commitment to a quality park system. A few highlights from the report:
- #1 Rank in acres of parkland as a percentage of city area
- #1 Rank in acres of parkland per 1,000 residents
- #10 Rank for dog parks per 100,000 (the city has 13 dog parks)
