Urban Forest Project Comes to Albuquerque

expired

Artists, designers, students and the general public will employ the idea or form of the tree to make powerful visual statements regarding the environment on street banners.

The Urban Forest Project provides the platform to raise public awareness for tree planting initiatives and education.

The Urban Forest Project provides the platform to raise public awareness for tree planting initiatives and education.

The project taps into Albuquerque’s rich heritage in the creative arts by engaging fine artists and designers, as well as students, educators, the business community and the general public.

In the spirit of sustainability, the banners will be converted into tote bags and other products that will be auctioned off to raise money for local tree planting efforts.

The banners are presently in the Nob Hill area so go take a look!

This project also had a children only component sponsored by Wells Fargo. APS contacted all the art teachers for us and we got over 100 wonderful peices of artwork from local APS middle and high schools. Their banners are at the Bio-Park Zoo in the park area by the bandshell. Please visit and see what great up and coming artists we have in Abuquerque!

All the professional artwork and many of childrens art is on the website.
