  • Poetry in Place: Join us in recognizing our natural resources, community and youth. March 31 (Workshops, affordably priced) & April 1 (Presentations).
  • Open Space Visitor Center Volunteer Trainings 2012: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm on the following Saturdays  Saturday, March 3rd; Saturday, June 2nd; Saturday, September 29th; Saturday, December 8th

The Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. A map is provided at the bottom of this page. Hours: Tuesday - Sunday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

This facility offers the public information and resources on the Open Space program. Renovations of the facility were completed in September 2006. The Visitor Center has exhibits interpreting the amazing natural and cultural resources Open Space protects. It also features an art gallery, agricultural fields that draw a variety of wildlife and stunning views of the Sandia Mountains.

LOCATION AND ACCESS

The Open Space Visitor Center is located east of Coors Blvd. at the end of Bosque Meadows Rd. which is between Montano Blvd. and Paseo del Norte.

AGRICULTURE AND WILDLIFE

The Open Space Visitor Center manages approximately 18 acres of agricultural land for the benefit of wildlife. The farm rotates corn, sorghum, millet, and alfalfa that feed winter migratory birds and other local wildlife, including pollinators.

The Open Space Visitor Center also offers comfortable indoor and outdoor viewing areas where you can watch Sandhill cranes and other migratory birds during their fall and winter migratory season.

THE FLYWAY PROJECT

Flyway is an iconic piece of public art that is located near the City of Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center at the corner of Coors and Bosque Meadows Road.
