Burque Bioneers is a local, self-organized Bioneers event slated for October 21-22 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center
. Daily events broadcasting practical environmental solutions and innovative social strategies to restore Earth’s imperiled ecosystems and human community begin at 9:00 am each day and end at 4:00 pm.
The two-day sustainability and action conference merges education, inspiration, service, and fun for the community. Video keynotes from the 22nd annual Bioneers Conference in San Rafael, California will be featured, including activist Gloria Steinem, renewable energy thinker Amory Lovins, and Karen Brown from the Center for Ecoliteracy
.
Local speakers, panel discussions and workshops will also be presented. Events include REI
-sponsored service projects in the Albuquerque Open Space, panels on transportation, water and local agriculture, art-making with One Million Bones
, and Yoga for Earthlings.
Tickets are $25 for both days, $15 for a one-day pass, on sale at the NHCC box office
