Human Rights Board
Membership
All members shall be named by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. The Mayor shall endeavor in all appointments to create and maintain a Board broadly representative of the city population, and in particular, its racial, ethnic and cultural spectrum.
HRB Declaration of Policy
Pursuant to Article VIII of The Albuquerque City Charter, in order to assure the public safety, public health and general welfare, to:
- Preserve, protect, and promote human rights and human dignity;
- Promote and encourage the recognition and exercise of human responsibility;
- Protect and promote equality of access to public goods and services; and
- Prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin or ancestry, age or physical handicap, including, but not limited to the following area:
- in places of public accommodations;
- In housing accommodations; and
- In commercial space.

Meetings
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Albuquerque, should contact the Office of Civil Rights at 505-768-4595 as soon as possible but no later than 72 hours before the scheduled event.
