-The Blue Hornets are a 9-piece Ska/Rocksteady band from Albuquerque, NM. They formed in 2009 from the remains of several successful local ska and reggae bands, including Giant Steps, Sub Agencia, Danny Winn and the Earthlings, Cool Runnins, Beat Fetish, and others. They are currently performing locally and regionally to a discriminating and loyal following.
-The Blue Hornets sound is a blend of influences, which includes early Jamaican ska, reggae and rocksteady, British two-tone ska, and American jazz and swing. They maintain an emphasis on fun and engaging live performances, while showcasing a distinct musical style that pays tribute to the early pioneers of Jamaican music. A tight rhythm section, tasty horns, and vocal harmonies drive the Blue Hornets’ sound and has helped add to their rapidly growing reputation as a great live band.
