Today Mayor Martin Chavez and Albuquerque Ride director
Greg Payne announced a new bus service called “Downtown Get Around” or “D-ride.” The
first day of service will be Friday, July 14, which coincides with the opening
of the Rail Runner Express.
“D-ride” will be free of charge for everyone. The route begins at Alvarado Transportation Center and will loop through Downtown. A few of the stops on the loop are:
There will be three D-ride buses that will make the loop every 7 minutes, making it the most frequent bus service. The hours for the route are 6:30 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Each bus has a full graphic bus wrap that showcases Downtown landmarks, so it is very easy to spot. With more people using the Albuquerque bus services, it is time to provide a route structure that will be efficient for more people.
