When the Federal Courthouse was built at 4th and Lomas, Albuquerque lost its green space downtown. That is why today we are announcing the concept plans for the "New Metro Park."

Eventually the parking lot between 3rd and 4th and Roma and Marquette will be replaced by a beautiful "Metro Park."

The Park will have many amenities such as turf area, water features, many shade trees, and areas to sit and enjoy Albuquerque's beautiful weather. The Park will also have interactive obelisks with live web cameras of all of our sister cities. Potentially people would be able to communicate over the web if people are at the kiosks at the same time.

We expect design to be complete by spring 2007. Construction would be complete by spring 2008.
