Ventana Ranch Park Tennis Complex Grand Opening
July 2, 2015
Albuquerque - The City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the Ventana Ranch Park Tennis Complex is now open to the public. The complex includes 12 tennis courts, four of which are lined for pickleball.
In addition to public use, the complex will host tennis programs with the Albuquerque Public Schools and the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
Along with the new tennis facility, Parks and Recreation added a fourth multi-use sports field to the park. The additions make the sports field area and tennis complex the largest in west Albuquerque.
"We are proud to have another feature to add to the quality of life in our city," said Mayor Richard J. Berry. "It's important that we continue to support family recreation that brings the community together."
The courts are also lighted for the option of night games. Future additions include a smaller multi-purpose field for junior sports. Construction on the new field will begin this summer.
"We’re excited to present this beautiful new tennis facility to the West Side community," said Albuquerque City Councilor Dan Lewis. "The new tennis complex will encourage people of all ages to stay active and healthy right in the heart of the West Side."
