Recycled Fashion on the Runway
October 10, 2013
Albuquerque, NM – Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, a program of the Solid Waste Management Department, and Warehouse 508 invite everyone to the second annual Trashion Fashion Show. This recycling inspired fashion show will be set to live music. Designers were challenged to create outfits using reclaimed and recycled materials. Each outfit will be worn by a model and displayed on a traditional fashion show runway.
The show is scheduled to begin at 2 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Warehouse 508, located at 508 1st Street. Space is limited in the Warehouse 508 venue, early arrival is encouraged. This year’s fashion show will include a presentation of awards and a musical performance by DJ True Step, a local musician, during intermission.
"With the recent distribution of recycling carts in Albuquerque, recycling has taken on a significant role in our communities," Mayor Richard J. Berry said. "Trashion Fashion is fun and truly a unique way to educate and stress the importance of recycling."
An affiliate of Keep America Beautiful since 1982, Keep Albuquerque Beautiful is dedicated to community education on all solid waste management issues and alternatives through litter control, beautification, and graffiti eradication activities.
