Abandoned and problem-riddled home is demolished by Safe City Strike Force

Albuquerque- Today Chief Administrative Officer Robert Perry and City Councilor Don Harris kicked-off the demolition of the fourplex apartment. The building located at 11105 Towner NE, is a foreclosure, and has been attracting squatters and crime for several years. Last fall a transient set fire to a unit within the home, damaging the house even more.

On multiple occasions the City secured and boarded up the property to keep the criminals and squatters away. This past October the City council approved a resolution to rid the neighborhood of the dilapidated home.

A lien will be filed for all demolish-related expenses; City Officials say the demolition will cost about $11,240.00.
