Roger D. Newall is a former active duty and reserve Air Force service man who currently serves as the Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart and as a National ROTC/JROTC President.
Albuquerque, NM- Roger D. Newall is a former active duty and reserve Air Force service man who currently serves as the Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart and as a National ROTC/JROTC President. He will begin his service with the City of Albuquerque next week. His first order of business will be to address the need for Veteran’s preference hiring within the City of Albuquerque, similar to the one used in the Federal government. Mr. Newall’s responsibilities will also include providing advisory council for Veteran-related issues, and serving as the city’s officer of volunteer services within MOVE [the Mayor's Office of Volunteerism and Engagement].

Newall is a well rounded individual who served in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He earned a Master’s in Education for Springfield College in Springfield, MA and has over 20 years of experience involving the both public and private education.
Newall has over 50 years of experience as a hockey player in both competitive and non-competitive programs, additionally serving as a referee.
Newall will begin his new position on Monday, December 19, 2011 and will earn $ 44,324 a year.
