Albuquerque, NM - Today Mayor Richard J. Berry announced the new acting director for the City of Albuquerque’s Planning Department. For the past year and a half Suzanne Lubar has been managing the Real Property Division within the city.

Lubar transitions into the new leadership position with decades of legal and commercial real estate development and planning experience, including years of experience running her own business. Lubar’s ability to manage people coupled with her attention to detail, and strong legal background will aid her in taking the reins in the Planning Department.

"I hold Suzie in high esteem.  Since she started with us, I’ve been impressed by her professional and eager approach to diligently working for the people of this great city," said Mayor Berry. "She’s a great fit, and I look forward to seeing her thrive in this new position."

"The Planning Department is key to the safe, successful, well-planned growth of the City of Albuquerque.  I am very honored and excited that Mayor Berry has asked me to lead this highly qualified and talented team and look forward to working with them and continuing to serve the citizens of Albuquerque."

Lubar received her bachelor and her Juris Doctor degrees from the University of New Mexico. She is a licensed New Mexico Real Estate Broker, licensed to practice law in New Mexico, and is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico.
