Employee Helps Make City More Efficient

Employee of the Week: Mario Lucero

Albuquerque- Today Richard J. Berry honored an employee who goes out of his way to make fellow city employee’s jobs easier and more efficient. Mario Lucero, an employee with the Information Technology Services Division within the department of Finance & Administrative Services, is responsible for designing city web programs that whittle hours of work into only minutes.

Lucero goes above and beyond each and every day to assist all who call upon him. With his eager to please and friendly attitude, he is truly a delight to work with. Many can attest to his excellent work ethic with his performance in creating SharePoints for several city departments. SharePoint is a website design program that facilitates a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information. Lucero has been previously recognized for his Toys for Tots SharePoint which allowed many APD divisions to work together in organizing this large event. Lucero is also known for his work on the Friday's Hero nomination SharePoint, the Route 66 Project SharePoint, and the Rio Grande Vision SharePoint. These are just a sample of all the SharePoints that he has made that make city employee's jobs easier. What makes Mario's work worthy of recognition is that he responds to requests instantaneously, completes projects with unprecedented speed, and eagerly answers all questions.

Many city employee’s remarks, when working with Lucero, are that his work ethic was enjoyable, uplifting and highly efficient. This is the example that is expected of all city employees, but Mario Lucero is able to accomplish all of this with an amazing attitude. No matter how tedious or mundane your question might be, Mario treats it with the utmost importance. He has gone above and beyond to be the model employee and is this week’s employee of the week.
