City Holds First Child Abuse Prevention Task Force Public Outreach Session

Community invited to share input as April kicks off Child Abuse Prevention Month

Albuquerque- In conjunction with the Mayor’s Office and several city departments, the Child Abuse Prevention Task Force headed by Marie Sisi Miranda will hold the first public outreach session tomorrow evening, Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Albuquerque Police Department Training Academy located at 5412 2nd Street NW.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce members of the task force as well as hear from a panel of local experts on child abuse issues and prevention, including representatives of All Faiths, APD and Bernalillo County law enforcement personnel who work with children and special victims, as well as the Children, Youth and Families Department and several others. Additionally, task force members will be seeking input from community members and there will be an opportunity for questions and answers. There will be several more outreach events over the coming months.

The outreach session is being held on the first of April coinciding with the beginning of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
