City Holds Child Abuse Prevention Task Force Public Outreach Session

Community invited to share concerns in second of series of outreach events

Albuquerque- In conjunction with the Mayor’s Office and several city departments, the Child Abuse Prevention Task Force headed by Marie Sisi Miranda will hold its second public outreach session tomorrow evening, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Taylor Ranch Community Center, located at 4900 Kachina NW.


The purpose of the meeting is to introduce members of the task force as well as hear from an expert panel including representatives of the New Mexico Child Abuse Prevention Partnership, the Children’s Law Center at the University of New Mexico, the New Mexico Child Abuse and Neglect Citizen Review Board and several others. Additionally, the task force will be seeking input from community members and there will be an opportunity for questions and answers. There will be several more outreach events over the coming months.


The Task Force was established by Mayor Richard J. Berry to seek better community outcomes relating to child abuse prevention and response mechanisms in our community. The public is invited and welcome to attend.
