The Albuquerque Film Office faced tough competition from three Southern California film commissions and Iceland’s commission.

ALBUQUERQUE – On Saturday March 29th, the Location Managers Guild of America held its inaugural LMGA Awards Show. The Albuquerque Film Office won in the “Outstanding Film Commission, 2013” category. The Albuquerque Film Office faced tough competition from three Southern California film commissions and Iceland’s commission.
Ann Lerner, of the Albuquerque Film Office, attended the show on behalf of the City. According to the organizers, the “Outstanding Film Commission” award is “given to the film commission that rises above and beyond the call of duty.” The Albuquerque Film Office was nominated due to its contribution to the TV production “Breaking Bad” and the feature film “Lone Survivor.”
“It is no surprise to those of us who work closely with Ann Lerner and her hard working team at the Albuquerque Film Office, that they have been awarded such a prestigious honor,” Mayor Richard Berry stated. “The critical assistance they provide to the industry is a key reason Albuquerque is considered a great place for filmmaking.”
“I was honored to accept the award on behalf of the City and all the people on our permit committee,” stated Ann Lerner, Film Liaison. “We will continue to work hard to make Albuquerque as film friendly as possible and a premier location for productions in the future.”
The LMGA Awards Show was organized to recognize the accomplishments in location scouting/managing and the work of film commissions internationally. The LMGA is a professional organization of Location Managers, Location Scouts, Assistant Location Managers, and affiliated business members, such as film commissions, location services, vendors, and filming venues.
