Chief Operations Officer Irene Garcia
Ms. Irene Garcia currently services as the Chief Operations Officer. She oversees ten departments, which have an annual appropriation of $386 milllion and approximately 3,000 employees.
Ms. Garcia has a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Public Administration, both from the University of New Mexico. Her experience includes approximately 23 years of experience in administration and management in state and local government. She has effectively provided oversight for internal services including Human Resources, Accounting, Information Technology, Risk Management, Treasury and Purchasing. She formerly served as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Albuquerque.
