Bobby Sisneros, Department of Solid Waste

May 11, 2012

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Bobby Sisneros works as a Public Information Officer for the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Solid Waste. Mr. Sisneros is this week’s employee of the week.

Mr. Sisneros is being honored for his role in putting together the first ever Keep Albuquerque Beautiful Recyclothes event. This event was put on as part of the Keep Albuquerque Beautiful Program which is an affiliate of the Keep America Beautiful organization that focuses on engaging individuals to take greater responsibility for their community environments.

Mr. Sisneros is the coordinator of the Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and while planning the Recyclothes event he had to stay organized and work with many different groups. He had the help of the City of Albuquerque, Cliff’s Amusement Park and Clear Channel Communications.

The goal of this program is to provide clothes to the nearly 3,000 students and their families that need basic necessities. People were able to drop off these clothes to BCCPTA Clothing Bank. This clothing bank has helped students from APS for nearly sixty years.

It was the hard work and creativity of Mr. Sisneros that allowed this drive to become a reality. He is a huge reason why many school children now have clothes on their backs.
