On April 27, 2010 a Department of Municipal Development employee had a seizure during a training class in the field. Five others, who were in the training, stepped up to the plate and rendered aid for the employee who was in medical distress. Their efforts prevented him aspirating on his own vomit, which could have led to his death. They also held onto him and kept him from harming himself further while seizing, as he was found wedged between two vehicles. Additionally they stayed with him, comforting him and reassuring him all while being vomited on, until the fire department and rescue personnel could arrive and take over his care. Even afterwards, they took the time to clean up the blood and vomit without being prompted. These five men immediately jumped in and took action and saved the life of their colleague.
