Betty Baca works in the Housing Division of the Family and Community Services Department.

Betty Baca is someone who works behind the scenes, often taking no credit for the work she does.

Betty’s required job duties include entering applications, making packets, mailing, and other clerical items in the office.

In the Housing Division, she often sees needy families and underprivileged children. The families she comes across affect her deeply and it’s hard for her to just stand by and watch. Instead, each Holiday Season, Betty takes action.

On her own time and using her own resources, Betty collects food and toys to make gift baskets for the families she comes across each day. Betty’s reward is seeing the faces of the children and grateful parents when they receive their gift baskets. Often times the basket full of food and toys is the only gift the children will get for Christmas.

For the generosity and compassion that Betty finds in her heart each Holiday Season, she is this week’s Employee of the Week.
