Paseo del Norte / I-25 Interchange
$93 Million

The City of Albuquerque is teaming up with the State of New Mexico and other agencies on a $93 million project to improve the Paseo del Norte / I- 25 interchange. This project will reduce traffic congestion, increase safety, improve air quality and create jobs. State lawmakers have approved nearly $30 million toward the project. The Mayor and City Council have made available $50 million, and Bernalillo County has agreed to contribute $5 million. An additional $8-10 million is needed to complete the funding, which the city is seeking from a federal transportation grant. More

Future of Route 66

We're having some Town Hall meetings in May and June to discuss the future of Route 66 in Albuquerque, ways to bring the 'Mother Road' back and make it a destination for visitors and a great place to live, work and play. More
Key areas include:
- Transportation & infrastructure
- Inviting streetscapes and neighborhoods
- Business improvements and incentives
- A strong Route 66 brand

Convention Center 'Facelift'
$20 Million in funding, provided by debt refinancing

This project will provide a much needed facelift for the Albuquerque Convention Center to bring more conventions to Albuquerque and provide a great space for locals. It is funded by $20 Million in debt refinancing. A consultant team has been chosen and work will begin soon.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
$1 million in Federal Transit Administration funds

Construct a Bus Rapid Transit Line on Central from Tramway to 98th Street, to connect east to west and provide infrastructure to enhance neighborhoods. A consultant team has been selected and is moving forward.

Albuquerque River Corridor Improvements Plan
$150,000 in GO Bond Planning Funds

With this project we want to enhance areas along the Rio Grande for visitors to Albuquerque and to improve access and quality of life for local residents, focusing on major river crossings. It's funded by $150,000 in GO Bond Planning Funds. A consultant team has been selected, pending City Council approval.

Albuquerque Bike Loop Master Plan
$150,000 in GO Bond Planning Funds

We are creating a plan to construct a 50-mile bike loop around the City of Albuquerque. The goal of this project is to increase the quality of life for citizens and to promote health and wellness in our City. It's funded by $150,000 in GO Bond Planning Funds. A consultant team has been selected, pending City Council approval.
