Free parking for up to 2 hours in the Very Special Arts Garage at 5th and Copper. Bring your parking stub to the circulation desk for validation. There is also on street metered parking.

Gilbert and Sullivan. Stop by the Main Library in downtown Albuquerque to view this unique collection of Gilbert and Sullivan memorabilia and collectibles. The display includes tradecards, cigarette cards, posters, programmes, cabinet photos, pages from The Graphic & The Illustrated London News, Dolly Dingle paper dolls, Guinness advertisements, a dozen or so old books, old libretti & scores, china, and more. Lunch at the Library: A Talk on Gilbert and Sullivan. Join Russ Sype, a Gilbert and Sullivan enthusiast and collector, for an entertaining talk about Gilbert and Sullivan. Mr. Sype is currently displaying items from his collection at the Main Library. He will talk about some of the memorabilia and collectibles and the various operas and other Gilbert and Sullivan works that they represent. Bring your lunch and listen! Second Career Volunteer: Author Presentation and Book Signing

Cover of Second Career Volunteer by Barbara TraynorBarbara M. Traynor’s book, Second Career Volunteer, describes her volunteer retirement lifestyle. In July, 2005, after working as an Administrative Assistant for over forty-five years, she retired. In August, she drove 8,000 miles to Alaska to volunteer at a small college for a year. Since then, Barbara has been a long-term, long-distance volunteer at a wildlife refuge in Florida and a Heifer International learning center in Arkansas. Along the way she was asked so many questions that she decided to write a book.
