Inheritance: A Documentary Screening and Discussion.
Imagine watching Schindler’s List and knowing that the sadistic Nazi camp commandant played by Ralph Fiennes was your father. Inheritance is the story of Monika Hertwig, the daughter of the mass murder Amon Goeth. She seeks out Helen Jonas, who was enslaved by Goeth and who is one of the few living eyewitnesses to his unspeakable brutality. The documentary by James Moll is part of the award winning PBS P.O.V. nonfiction film series. Please join us for a screening of this 90 minute documentary. You will also hear from two individuals, Evelyn (Goldstein) Woods and Rudi Florian, who were children in Germany during the Nazi regime. Parking in the city parking facility on the SE corner of 5th and Copper will be validated for up to 2 hours. The event is a collaboration among the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Library System, KNME, the New Mexico Holocaust and Intolerance Museum, a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico, and P.O.V. For more information call (505) 768-5115.
