Freedom Through Gesture Drawing. Presented by artist Shirl Sazynski, this rapid drawing session focuses on loosening up and capturing basic movement and character of subjects. Participants will sketch common objects from their surroundings learning to go with their gut sense, give their drawings “life”, and build confidence in quick impressions by avoiding the eraser. Our Radioactive World-a program for teens ages 12-18. Do we glow in the dark? Can you measure the half-life of licorice? What do superheroes have to do with radiation? By using a Geiger counter to test hot samples and by observing alpha, beta, and gamma rays in a cloud chamber, participants will learn about radiation and nuclear decay.
