The Library Advisory Board acts as liaison between the community and its municipal government for the following purposes: to keep itself informed of library needs and serve as a forum for discussion; to recommend to the Mayor policies for overall development to include plans for additional library facilities, and ways and means of financing improvements; to encourage the greatest use of library facilities and programs. The Library Advisory Board consists of 13 members appointed by the Mayor and City Council and 2 members who are appointed by the County Commission.

Monthly Meetings

Library Advisory Board meetings are held at 5 PM on the first Thursday of the month in the Main Library Board Room. Agendas are posted in each library at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. Call 768-5100 for more information.

Speakers Bureau

Library Advisory Board members and library staff are available to speak to groups about library services and activities.
