The Big Read: September-October 2009

  "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury

The Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Library System is partnering with the Santa Fe Opera and the Rio Grande Nature Center this fall to bring the Big Read to Albuquerque. The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, is designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. This initiative provides citizens with the opportunity to read and discuss a single book within our community.

During the months of September and October, everyone will be encouraged to read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. To promote this initiative, a number of community events will be taking place throughout the City.

For additional information on upcoming programs, visit the Big Read website at www.neabigread.org
