Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for Smoking Cessation, Weight Loss, and Nutrition

Mindfulness is the cultivation of attention to our moment-to-moment experience.  The majority of people who complete Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses report an increased ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations.  Research also shows that MBSR helps with nicotine addiction, weight issues, compulsive eating, type 2 diabetes, and many other health conditions.

Two 8-week courses for smoking cessation and two 8-week courses for weight loss and nutrition will be offered in 2017 to City of Albuquerque employees, spouses, and domestic partners looking for assistance in these areas.  Class size is limited to 40.
