Celebrate Mother's Day with music from the NM Philharmonic!
The New Mexico Philharmonic performs a special Mother's Day concert. The concert begins at 2 p.m. with a short performance by students involved in the Philharmonic's educational program called the Young Musician Initiative (YMI). The program is based on the worldwide music education/community involvement program El Sistema. The 40 students from Dolores Gonzales Elementary, who participate in classes two hours a day, four days a week, 24 weeks a year, will sing and perform on instruments.
The New Mexico Philharmonic, under the direction of Stuart Chafetz, will perform a variety of beautiful and familiar classical music to celebrate and honor all mothers. The concert will last approximately one hour and is included with regular Zoo admission.
Enter to win special prizes that include family passes to the BioPark's venues, tickets to a Zoo Music Concert, tickets to one of the remaining New Mexico Philharmonic Zoo Concerts and a gift bag of items from the Zoo's shop.
