Pay Scale

Firefighter cadet (18 weeks) $1280 per month
Upon graduation from Training Academy $1848 per month
1 year after graduation from Training Academy $2762 per month
Rank differential ~ 8% between ranks (to rank of Deputy Chief)

Specialty Pay

Paramedic

$84 per pay period

+ 2.9% rescue assignment pay

Dispatch, Arson, FMO, Academy, Administration $50 per pay period
Bi-lingual pay $20 per month

Work Hours

Duty hours for Albuquerque Firefighters are 48 hours in duration. There are three shifts (A, B, C). Each works one 48-hour shift with four days off between shifts. Work hours differ for personnel assigned to support functions.
