Lowe’s Donates Life Saving Equipment to Seniors
In addition to the approximately $1,200.00 donation, a team of Lowe’s employees will volunteer their time to install the alarms in the homes of Albuquerque seniors.
Once the Carbon Monoxide alarms are installed in the home, seniors will receive fire safety information from the Albuquerque Fire Department and general information from the Department of Senior Affairs.
Fire Chief Breen and Director Jorja Armijo-Brasher worked together to identify the list of seniors who would benefit from having these life saving alarms installed in their homes. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), unintentional CO exposure accounts for an estimated 15,000 emergency department visits and 500 unintentional deaths in the United States each year.
