The Albuquerque Film Office is proud to introduce a new, fun program to the city—the Albuquerque Film Ambassador program.
New Mexico still leads the nation in Film Incentives. And Albuquerque, the largest city in the state with the widest diversity of locations, will be getting the lion’s share of the filming that’s coming our way.
The Albuquerque Film Ambassador Program recognizes local citizens and businesses who have gone out of their way in assisting filmmakers to make their jobs easier.
Spring, 2003, two Tony Hillerman movies were filmed in the area for the PBS American MYSTERY! Specials. Citizens saw large trucks, movie stars, cameras, lights and lots of action, including some street detours and closures, in Old Town, Downtown, the Huning Highland area, and the University area, including the famous Frontier Restaurant.
The film industry is an incredible boon to our economy, and we appreciate that it is not always convenient for local citizens to be in the paths of film crews. Albuquerque has a reputation as a Film-Friendly City, and we want to keep it that way!
Be an Albuquerque Film Ambassador!
Keep Albuquerque Film-Friendly!
