The PLAY+ Program offers before and/or after school recreation programs for enrolled Kindergarten–5th grade students at various Albuquerque Public School elementary schools during the school year. These programs provide planned, organized, and supervised activities designed to meet the recreational needs of children who attend.

PLAY+ Dates & Hours

Programs will begin on August 7, 2023. Starting and ending dates for each school vary, so contact your school to verify school starting and ending dates. PLAY+ follows the Albuquerque Public Schools schedule. The days that school is closed, we also will be closed.

Before School program begins at 7 a.m. until the time school starts, Monday to Friday. After School program begins from the time school ends until 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Registration

Fall 2023 registration begins July 24 at 8 a.m.

Online registration is limited, and registration is held on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a site registration is full, a waiting list will be kept and maintained. Parents will be notified as space becomes available.

Online registration is required for any and all children who attend the program.

Registration Fee

A non-refundable registration fee of $10 per child is required for all registered participants. The registration fee must be paid at time of registration.

Weekly Fee

All fees must be paid on a weekly basis or in advance.

If the weekly fee is not paid by the end of the week, your child will be discharged from the program.

*Weekly cost for multiple children applies to siblings only.

Late Fee Charge: If a child is picked up after 6 p.m. (program end time), parents will be charged $15 per child for each 30 minutes after 6 p.m. If a child is at the recreation site for a portion of the 30 minutes, the charge will be for the entire 30 minutes. The charge must be paid at the time the child is being picked up from the program.

Closure Days

PLAY+ Before School Program follows the APS schedule. The days that schools are closed, the program will also be closed.

Additionally, we will not have the PLAY+ Program on the following days:

  • Labor Day
  • Fall Recess
  • Indigenous People's Day
  • Thanksgiving Break
  • Winter Recess
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Presidents' Day
  • Spring Break
  • Vernal Holiday (Friday before Easter Sunday)
  • Independence Day

Note: These dates and other dates are subject to change.

PLAY+ Program will also be closed on any other Albuquerque Public Schools Holiday that may not be listed above. Please check with your school for other dates.

Important Note: The PLAY+ program does not provide year-end statements. Any time a payment is made, we do provide receipts and we suggest that participants of the program save those receipts for tax purposes. You may also use the chart above (Program Fees) as a guide to help you calculate your payments for the year.
