The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) identifies barriers to fair housing choice in Albuquerque and develops a plan to mitigate the impediments. According to HUD, impediments to fair housing choice are any actions, omissions, or decisions taken because of or that have the effect of restricting housing choices or the availability of housing because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin. Impediments may also be violations of the Federal Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination in housing.
