Featured band of the week: the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra
Since its creation in September of 1972, the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra has offered free classical music to the community in a series of concerts and chamber performances. From its beginnings, the orchestra has brought together some of the Albuquerque area's most accomplished amateur performers for the love of music. David Felberg, APO's Music Director has continuously improved the quality and professionalism of the orchestra for nearly ten years. APO provides opportunities for local and out-of-town soloists to share their talents, featuring a different guest soloist at each concert.
The Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra provides opportunities for experienced amateur musicians to aid students in learning to enjoy classical music, facilitate soloists and composers to share their talents, study and enjoy the classical repertoire, and to present concerts, free of charge, to a large and diverse audience in Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
The Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra will play two performances this weekend:
- Saturday, November 5th at Keller Hall, in the UNM Center for the Arts. This is an all ages event. Doors at 7:30 / Music at 8PM / FREE!
- Sunday, November 6th at the National Hispanic Cultural Center / 1701 Fourth Street. SW Doors at 1:30PM / Music at 2PM
