Technology and Albuquerque

Albuquerque is home to eight robust and growing technology clusters, which have found a good workforce, a supportive business environment and the incomparable resources of national laboratories and a nationally recognized university.

In 2010 Site Selection magazine ranked Albuquerque second in Metro Economic Growth Potential. In 2008 Cybercities ranked the city 10th in high-tech employment per capita.

Albuquerque has all the elements necessary for successful tech clusters: research centers, an environment of innovation, low cost of doing business, a sizable population of scientists and engineers, low utility rates, venture capital, support networks, and a quality of life that’s attractive to innovators.

Albuquerque’s clusters include:
Aerospace and Aviation

Alternative Energy
Bioscience
Electronics
Film and Multimedia
Information Technology and Software

Media Industries

Micro- and Nanotechnology
Optics and Photonics
Technology Programs
