Renaissance Faire- May 2, 2015!

Enjoy food, music, demonstrations, arts, and activities all recreated from the Middle Ages! Renaissance Faire will be returning to the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the new time from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. The Albuquerque Renaissance Faire is a rain or shine event.

Other Entertainment

The Faire will be full of fun! Different entertainment can be found throughout the land including Celtic singers, juggling, and magic. From armored combat exhibitions and a Renaissance Village reenacting medieval life to Living History and archery demonstrations, there is entertainment for all. Stumble on entertainment that has traveled through centuries and over continents including The Khans, Celtic singers, Scott and Johanna, and more as you make your way around the grounds. Whether in the Commoner's Food Court, Children's Realm, or dining at the Royal Feast, you can be sure to find some Renaissance themed entertainment.

Free Group Wedding

A Celebration of Love Wedding Chapel invites you to have a fairy tale wedding at the Renaissance Faire! Marry your king or queen or renew your vows during this free, Renaissance ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. with walk-up weddings allowed for the duration of the event. Take advantage of this special opportunity that requires no appointment or wait time. There will be a county clerk on site to issue marriage certificates for a $25 cash only fee.

Renaissance Faire Wear Show

Lords and Ladies of Albuquerque are invited to participate in our first ever Renaissance Faire Wear Show. Wear your best Renaissance garb and sign-up to walk in the Faire Wear Show for your shot at winning a Renaissance Faire gift pack. Adults and children are invited to sign-up at the table located near the information booth starting at 3:15 p.m. The Show will begin at 4 p.m.

The Tavern

Kings and Queens can take advantage of the opportunity to escape the hard life of running the Kingdom and spend some time in The Tavern. Enjoy entertainment, food and libations, including mead and ale, for adults ages 21 years and up only. Food such as French dip sandwiches, barbeque ribs and wings, turkey sandwiches and salads will be available for purchase.

Enjoy the risqué, Celtic tunes of Michele Buchanan followed by the torso-twisting fun of Farfesha Belly Dancing. Renaissance themed magic, bawdy humor by Sir Loin of Chops, high-risk juggling from Bryan Connoly, the Mystic Nomads and more will be found in the Tavern. Last but not least, there will be henna art and fortune telling, making this the spot to be for adults at the Renaissance Faire.

The Tavern will be open from 1- 7 p.m.

Equestrian Jousting Presented by Epona

Order of Epona has been traveling since 2010. Starting from a group of friends that love horses and dressing up, now having transformed into a group of Knights, Ladies and Noble steeds that are dazzling audiences. A bit of history, a dash of fantasy, and there you have it!

Epona will be at the Renaissance Faire, captivating guests with two shows of live equestrian jousting. Snag a spot early to watch these incredible demonstrations taking place at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Children's Realm

This year's Children's Realm will be more fun than ever before for the Princes and Princesses of Albuquerque. Wanderland, presented by the Girl Scouts of NM Trails, and Fight a Knight will be back. Stroll by Wanderland and craft a fairytale wand and sign-up to Fight a Knight and earn a certificate for your victory. New this year will be the Faire Factor Games presented by the Boy Scouts of America Pack & Troop 88. Activities will include Castle Wall Knock-Down, Sun Dial crafting, a photo opportunity in The Stocks, and more. The climbing wall and face painting will also return along with a completely revamped games area. Children's activities are free.

Village Shopping

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all those who wish to stock-up on Renaissance Farie goods! Don't forget to swing by the village of more than 30 merchants selling handcrafted, Renaissance themed items and purchase some of your favorite things. Anything from olive oil, lavender, and jam to chain male jewelry, flower crowns, and Renaissance clothing will be found in the vendors' village. Brings your wallet, as you can be sure to find tons of beautiful goods to purchase. There will be an ATM on site.

Commoners Food Court

A variety of food trucks will serve your favorite fare. Traditional Renaissance themed food including giant turkey legs, delicious corn on the cob, baked goods, and more will be available from The Scottish Pie Shop, Back Sass BBQ, CCR Roasting, and Le Paris French Bakery. Also available for purchase will be an array of foods in Latin American Cuisine and cheesy pizzas brought to you by Calle Ocho and Irrational Pie Shop. It may be the Commoners Food Court, but the food tastes like it's made for royalty.

Royal Feast

Enjoy a unique themed meal created by the experts at Taste of the Wild catering. The royal meal will include starters like assorted cheeses, fruits, and grains followed by a main course of suckling pig and turkey legs with delicious vegetable sides for a well rounded Renaissance feast. Finish this one-of-a-kind experience with an assortment of pies fit for a king. Water and soda are provided at no charge.

The Royal Feast will take place during the Faire from 1-4 p.m. Please note, purchase of a Royal Feast ticket does not include admission to the Faire unless purchasing the Feast and Faire for Four pack. For more information and to purchase tickets, see below.

Tickets for the Albuquerque Renaissance Faire can be bought at the Balloon Museum at the event. Ticket sales include general admission and Royal Feast. Prices can be seen below.
