The South Broadway Cultural Center was previously a small storefront with minimal but wonderful performing space and a library to serve the immediate community. In late 1992 the old storefront was demolished and cleared away to make room for the new South Broadway Cultural Center to contain a 300+ seat theatre, art gallery, room for the community to gather in and a library.

Old storefront demolition November 7th, 1992.

Installing the architectural windows in the library in February 1993.
The new facility opened on April 14, 1994 and has been a thriving, artistic center in the South Broadway community ever since. Though the facility has gone through many changes throughout the years it still remains the greatest kept secret in Albuquerque. Known for the yearly Dia De Los Muertos celebration, wonderfully curated art exhibits and continued work with the community on numerous theatrical productions and annual lectures. Come on down to visit or check out our upcoming events and see all of the wonderful things going on!
