Description
Come celebrate 35 years of the Public Art Program and 30 years of the Urban Enhancement Trust Fund (UETF) at the Historic KiMo Theatre.
An art exhibit documenting 35 years of public art in Albuquerque will be on display at the KiMo Gallery for the month of October. Come see drawings, photographs and historic maquettes of some of the most enduring public artworks around town, as well as a timeline of events, from the adoption of the Art in Municipal Places Ordinance in 1978, to the current state of the program.
Then, for one night only, on Thursday, October 10th, enjoy a variety show starring some of the local arts organizations that have received UETF funding over the years. The line-up is still being finalized, but expect to hear great music and see some amazing performances. Albuquerque's Poet Laureate, Hakim Bellamy, will be performing a poem he wrote about the Public Art Program! Stay tuned for more updates!
