Spend time in Historic Old Town Enjoying Live Entertainment, Shopping, Dining.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM-Today the City of Albuquerque's Chief Administrative Officer Robert J. Perry and the members of the Old Town Merchants Association announced that the City and OTMA are ready to kick-off nine days of entertainment in celebration of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

The festivities begin with the annual San Felipe de Neri Santero Market on October 5 and 6 and continue through October 13 with a special line up of performances by Native American dancers, singers, drummers, and more on that last day.

Each day visitors can experience free cultural performances on the Plaza and in other areas within Old Town.  Live entertainment will range from African to Tango, Flamenco and Folklorico dances --- and from Western to Rock, Folk and Mariachi music.

"One of the best times to be in Historic Old Town is during the Balloon Fiesta," said Perry. "With the crisp fall weather and the changing colors, Old Town is great place for Albuquerque residents and Fiesta visitors to take a stroll and experience the culture, history and beauty of New Mexico. The entertainment will be outstanding, and the shopping is always first-rate."

During today's news conference at the Old Town Plaza, Sally Moon, the President of OTMA and the owner of Wild Moon Boutique, announced that the popular Old Town maps are hot off the press and ready for visitors to use. The City of Albuquerque assisted with the production and printing of the maps.

"Today we thank the Mayor and the City of Albuquerque for ensuring that the Old Town maps were printed in a timely manner," said Moon. "They are important because they help Fiesta guests discover what to see, buy and eat in Old Town."
