Fun Continues All Summer Long
Happy birthday to Zoo!
Come celebrate at the ABQ BioPark Zoo's 85th Birthday Bash on Sunday, July 22, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The party will feature great animal activities, learning stations, and of course, birthday cake. The celebration continues all summer with specials, events and contests through September 1.
"We wanted to do something special to commemorate the Zoo's long history and our community's support during the last 85 years," said Kathryn Venzor, BioPark Education Curator. "What better way to celebrate than with animal discovery stations at our birthday party!"
During the Zoo's 85th Birthday Bash on July 22, guests can enjoy music and games in the park, dress up for the animal birthday parade, watch animals interact with birthday-themed enrichment, visit hands-on Discovery Stations and more! At around 1 p.m., we'll sing "Happy Birthday" and have cake (while supplies last). A full schedule is available on our website.
The party falls mid-way through the "85 Days of Summer" celebration that includes daily prizes for the 85th and 850th Zoo visitors, an online photo contest, a "Spot the Birthday Cake" game and a drawing contest. We are also collecting old photos and Zoo memories. Guests who were born in 1927, the year the Zoo opened, visit the Zoo for free this summer. The Zoo's 85th Birthday Bash and 85 Days of Summer activities are included with regular admission.
