June 25, 2013
The New Mexico BioPark Society presents Under the Sun 2013, a pop rock 'n' roll tour featuring chart-toppers Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray and Gin Blossoms. The multi-artist bill visits the ABQ BioPark Zoo for a "Go Wild" benefit concert on Wednesday, July 3, from 6:30 - 10:30 p.m.
Smash Mouth ("Walkin' on the Sun" and "All Star"), Sugar Ray ("Fly" and "Every Morning") and Gin Blossoms ("Hey Jealousy" and "Til I Hear it From You") have sold nearly 20 million albums collectively. Each band has released a number one hit, and they're bringing '90s nostalgia to Albuquerque, their first stop on the summer tour.
Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person. All attendees, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Tickets are available online at www.GoWildConcerts.com or from any ABQ BioPark cashier. No child, senior or member discounts are available for this special fundraiser.
Guests may bring blankets, picnics and folding chairs. Some zoo exhibits will be open until 8 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Beer and wine will be available on-site. No outside alcohol or glass is permitted.
Music fans can sign up for the BioPark's new Wild Beats music e-newsletter for updates on coming acts, free music downloads and concert-night food and gift specials. For more information, email [email protected] or dial 311 locally (505-768-2000).
