Meet marsupials and colorful birds at the Australia exhibit.

In the Zoo's Australia, you can see the only Tasmanian wombats in the United States. Look for these large burrowing marsupials under logs or wall overhangs.
Then, walk through a free-flight exhibit of fluttering budgerigars and visit koalas and tree kangaroos. Koalas, closely related to wombats, graze on eucalyptus leaves and sleep up to 19 hours a day! Next to the koalas, find Matschie's tree kangaroos, which are endangered due to habitat destruction on the Huon Peninsula of New Guinea.
Our Actions Matter! You can help prevent habitat loss and save marsupials by recycling, supporting sustainable agriculture and reducing resource use.
