Update: March 19, 2013
CANCELLED: The spring Tingley Trekkers class has been cancelled. We plan to host a class in the fall, so please check back for details!
Spaces are still available for Tingley Trekkers, a spring class designed for children ages 4-6 and an accompanying adult. From March 21 to May 9, hike with Miss Ann and classmates every Thursday from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Reserve your space today, and with your child, discover wildlife in the middle of Albuquerque.
"We are so proud of our popular preschool programs," said Kathryn Venzor, Education Curator. "Tingley Trekkers offers a unique outdoor opportunity for families to explore the beauty and wonder of the ponds at Tingley Beach and the amazing wildlife of our bosque. Miss Ann does a wonderful job fully engaging the entire family in fun and unforgettable science learning!"
Miss Ann brings more than 30 years of experience in elementary and early childhood education to her classes. Her Tingley Trekkers curriculum includes games, music, crafts and active adventures that teach about animals and plants in the Rio Grande Bosque environment. Kids look for wildlife on land, in water and in the tops of trees. Activities ranging from making model boats and learning how to fish make every week exciting and new.
Parents love the Tingley Trekkers preschool program at ABQ BioPark's Tingley Beach:
"Miss Ann - she is so well prepared and has appropriate age-level fun activities. We love her!"
"We loved walking in the bosque and catching fish."
"Each time was fun, but the marsh ponds were especially fun as we saw so many things."
Tingley Trekkers costs $150 for a child and adult pair. Each additional child costs $75, with a maximum of three children per adult. New Mexico BioPark Society Members receive a 10% discount. Pre-registration is required for this fun, spring class. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Education Clerk at 505-848-7180.
