Spring into Fun

ABQ BioPark Spring Break camps encourage children to "get wild," explore their natural world.
02/01/2017 - Instead of staying inside playing video games this Spring Break, children can explore the wonders of the Rio Grande and even watch sea lions dive.

Registration is now open for ABQ BioPark Spring Break Camps, a set of five day-long camps for children in grades 2-6. Camps take place from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on March 20-24. Each day has a unique theme and location.

"Children will have a blast at our Spring Break camps," said Cheri Vogel, ABQ BioPark curator of education. "Throughout the week, they'll get opportunities to see some of the BioPark's animals up close, talk to BioPark staff and participate in fun games, interactive learning activities and more."

Camp lineup:
  • Monday: Spring Wildlife Safari at the Zoo - Adaptations
  • Tuesday: Spring Wildlife Safari at the Zoo - Animal Behaviors
  • Wednesday: Spring Water Journey at the Aquarium
  • Thursday: Spring Green Connection at the Botanic Garden
  • Friday: Spring Outdoor Adventure at Tingley Beach
Each participant receives a camp T-shirt and one refillable water bottle. Participants should bring their own lunch and snack.

The week-long experience is $250 per child. Children may also come to single camp sessions for $50 a day. New Mexico BioPark Society members get a $5 discount on daily camp fees and a $25 discount for the week-long option.
