Sparking Young Imaginations

BioPark Beginnings - now taking registrations - helps preschoolers explore nature interactively.
December 27, 2017 - Give a child the gift of nature this holiday season.

Registration is open for BioPark Beginnings, a 12-week class at the ABQ BioPark geared for kids ages 3-6.

"Kids will love the hands-on interactive format of these classes, while learning about some of their favorite wildlife," said Cheri Vogel, ABQ BioPark Aquarium and Botanic Garden science education coordinator. "Ms. Ann is a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher who sparks imaginations and excites the senses of young students."

Preschoolers, who must be accompanied by a parent, will explore the wonders of Africa and the BioPark while learning about sea turtles, giraffes, hippos, lions, river otters and more. Classes include songs, games, crafts, and visits to the Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach.

There are two 12-week sessions: Tuesdays at 1-2:30 p.m. starting January 9 and Wednesdays at 9:30-11 a.m. starting January 10.

The cost for one child and one adult is $175. Up to two additional children can be added for $80 each. NM BioPark Society members receive a 10 percent discount. Online registration is at abqbiopark.com/preschool-programs

Group size is limited. Pre-registration is required, and participation is reserved only upon receipt of payment.
