Bosque BioPark Bike-in offers bicyclists education opportunities, food and chance to win Aquarium tour.

May 14, 2018 - The ABQ BioPark will be celebrating National Bike to Work Day with breakfast for bikers, animal ambassadors, special prizes and conservation talk.

The BioPark invites cyclists, joggers, walkers, anglers and anyone else who enjoys the Bosque to take a break and join the festivities from 6:30-8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 18, at the Tingley Beach Train Station.

"This is more than just a coffee stop," said Monika Skiba, ABQ BioPark aquarist and educator. "We will also have food, animal ambassadors and opportunities to learn how all of our actions matter."

The ABQ BioPark will give visitors a chance to win some amazing prizes. A behind-the- scenes tour of the ABQ BioPark Aquarium for up to four people is up for grabs. Attendees will also get the opportunity to win a Pace Perk Pass, which includes a pack of 10 30-minute Zagster ride passes that never expire. Each Bike to Work Day station will have a winner.

Attendees will learn about birds of the Bosque, invasive plants, insects, the Rio Grande watershed and the BioPark's conservation programs. Free swag and coffee will also be offered. Vegetarian and vegan burritos will be available for purchase.

The event is free to the public.
