Coffee, Chow and Conservation for Cyclists

Bosque BioPark Bike-in offers bicyclists education opportunities, food and chance to win Aquarium tour.

05/16/2017 - The ABQ BioPark will be celebrating National Bike to Work Day with breakfast for bikers, animal ambassadors and conservation talk.

There will also be a chance to win a behind the scenes tour of the ABQ BioPark Aquarium for up to four people.

The BioPark invites cyclists, joggers, walkers, fisherman and anyone else who enjoys the Bosque to take a break and join the festivities from 6:30-8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19, at the Tingley Beach Train Station.

"This is more than just a coffee stop," said Monika Skiba, ABQ BioPark aquarist and educator. "We will also have food, animal ambassadors and opportunities to learn how all of our actions matter."

Attendees will learn about birds of the Bosque, invasive plants, insects, the Rio Grande watershed and the BioPark's conservation programs. Free swag and coffee will also be offered. Breakfast will include vegetarian and vegan burritos for purchase.

The event is free to the public.
