"Our camps offer a unique and unforgettable summer experience for preschoolers on up through ninth graders," said Kathryn Venzor, BioPark Education Curator. "Not only do campers experience guided tours and hands-on activities, but many campers will meet our plants and animals up-close with behind-the-scenes tours and special staff-led demonstrations. It's a naturally amazing way to spend your summer!"
Half-day and full-day classes are available. Each week-long conservation camp is designed to engage students in hands-on learning about nature. Typical camp days include guided tours, indoor and outdoor activities, games, crafts and snack time (with lunch breaks for full-day camps). Students in grades 3 - 9 also experience a behind-the-scenes tour during the week.
Here are some of the classes with availability this summer:
- K-1 - Discover the Zoo - Discover tiny frogs, enormous elephants and everything in between!
- Grades 2-3 - It's a Bug's World - Hands-on activities & games about the weird, wild world of bugs.
- Grades 4-6 - Diggable Planet - If you like good, messy fun, you'll dig this Botanic Garden camp!
- Grades 7-9 - Earth Explorers - Become a biologist as we investigate everything that creeps, crawls, swims, flies and photosynthesizes!
