ABQ BioPark Hosts Teacher Open House

Free zoo event to offer resources and activities to educators.

09/13/2017 - The ABQ BioPark Zoo is hosting a free open house this Saturday where teachers can learn more about what the BioPark has to offer.

The Teacher Open House takes place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on September 16 at the Zoo.
Teachers will receive a packet containing information about booking field trips and requesting an outreach presentation for their classroom, as well as resources and activities. The Zoo will also have a Pachyderm Celebration for rhinos, elephants and hippos from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

"We'll have many educational activities planned for a fun, fantastic and resource-filled day at the Zoo," said Deborah Zavala, ABQ BioPark volunteer and school programs specialist.

The event is free to educators. Any teacher can bring their valid school staff identification card to the teacher check-in table at the Zoo's main entrance to gain Zoo admission for themselves and one guest.

Teachers can also find life science resources online:
