Lively floral arrangements celebrate the abundance of autumn.
September 20, 2012
Throughout autumn, the ABQ BioPark continues to delight with vibrant seasonal flower arrangements. The Fall Fiesta of Flowers starts September 21, providing a final splash of color before plants go dormant for the winter. The show ends with the first freeze, so enjoy the beautiful blooms while you can.
Flower-filled baskets and planters adorn the grounds of the Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach. Arching purple Mexican sage and spiky orange leonotis are paired with chrysanthemums in shades of rust, bronze, yellow, orange and coral. The mums are expected to be in full bloom by October 1.
Harvest scenes with hay bales, scarecrows, corn stalks and pumpkins surround the containers and add to the fiesta feel. The scenes also offer great photo opportunities for families.
"Fall Fiesta of Flowers is a colorful celebration of the changing seasons," said Catherine Hubbard, Botanic Garden Manager. "Even as the days get cooler, the BioPark continues to be a place of flowers."
The Fall Fiesta of Flowers is included with regular admission. For more information, email email@example.com or dial 311 locally (505-768-2000).
